Henry Christian Awards

These awards were begun in 1990 to honor the founder of AFMR, Dr. Henry Christian. In 2010, the awards were given to the presenters and first authors of outstanding abstracts submitted in each abstract category for the 2010 AFMR Regional Meetings. Presenters at the Western Regional Meeting in Carmel, the Southern Regional Meeting in New Orleans, the Combined Midwestern/CSCR Meeting in Chicago, Illinois and the Eastern Regional Meeting in Washington, DC who met the requisite criteria were eligible. Award winners were required to present their work via poster at the AFMR Eastern Regional 2010 Annual Meeting on Monday, April 5, 2010 at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park. They were also recognized on Tuesday evening, April 6, 2010 at the AFMR Annual Henry Christian Awards Dinner.

Candidates must be physicians who are post-MD trainees, including residents, clinical fellows, physicians pursuing graduate degrees, and other post-doctoral fellows. The awards are supported by a grant from Merck. Awardees receive a Certificate of Excellence and a $1,250 honorarium.
